Fire Adapted Park County is powered by the people who live here. Volunteers are how mitigation actually gets done, how our programs run, and how neighborhoods stay connected before a fire ever starts.

Ways to Help
Mitigation
Hands-on work reducing wildfire fuel around homes and properties — clearing brush, thinning, and other Zone 1–3 mitigation tasks alongside FAPCo crews and partner organizations.
Events
Help staff FAPCo events — community education days, sign-up drives, and outreach where a few extra hands make the difference between an event running smoothly and one that doesn’t.
Training Classes
Support FAPCo’s education programs — assisting with logistics, setup, or instruction for classes that teach Park County residents skills like chainsaw safety or home hardening.
Hosting Team Rubicon Mitigation Crews
Team Rubicon’s veteran-led crews come to Park County each season to run Home Ignition Zone assessments and larger mitigation projects. Volunteers help host and support these crews during their time on the ground.
Neighborhood Communication
Serve as a point of contact in your own neighborhood — helping neighbors stay informed about FAPCo programs, alerts, and mitigation opportunities relevant to where you live.
